Training to use the Internet tools carried out for characterization

Training workshop in Mali, on June 16, 2010

Location: Bamako, Mali

A step to permit good use of original tools

The one-day workshop aims to help participants to get familiar with the use of two Internet tools carried out by CIRAD in the frazmework of this Project:

  1. AFOMDnet-SLIRE: tool to implement scientific and technical document referencing according to a hierarchic thesaurus which is specific to the topic addressed in the Project
  2. AFOMDnet-CAN: tool to help capitalize by documenting and characterizing experiences of promotion of foodcrop productions and diversification

The one-day workshop was the opportunity to demonstrate that the internet tools could operate under the conditions of access to internet in Africa. Nevertheless, it was decided that they could be more optimally coded so as to run quickly enough under the current constraint on internet connexion speed.
