A first Steering Committee to benefit from external assessment
The Committee took place in the conference room of the Hotel du Lac from 27to 28 september 2011, with the participation of external members coming from the Agence Française de Développement in Paris; of the Secretariat of the Club of Sahel and of West Africa, OECD; of the West and Central Council for Agricultural research and development (CORAF/WECARD).
Training in philosophy of sciences
Initiation to philosophy of sciences to achieve the cycle of training
The training took place from Sept. 19 to 23, 2011, in the meeting room of the Laboratoire d'Analyse Régionale et d'Expertise Sociale (LARES) in Cotonou, Benin. The coach was Ms Catherine Baudouin, philosopher and member of Trans-formation Consultants.
3rd training workshop on project writing
A third workshop to conclude the training in project writing
This workshop took place in Bamako (Mali), 8-13 August 2011. The General Director of the Institute of Rural economy of Mali has opened himself the workshop to underline how young scientists are lucky in comparison to scientists of his generation who got no opportunity to gain competence in scientific and project writings.
Workshop to inform stakeholders in Benin
Presentation of the project and of the capitalzing tools it has carried out
Among the project participating countries, Benin has been the first to organize the workshop to inform about the project and the capitalizing tools it has carried out. Participants came from various categories of stakeholders related with the issue of foodcrop productions and diversification.
Unforgetable workshop with Gary
A pro for the first training in scientific writing
To publish in an international journal, most often in English, techniques must be commanded but they are seldom taught in Francophone countries. Gary Burkhart has demonstrated that he does master these techniques, and he was both charismatic and humoristic in passing his knowledges, during the workshop which took place in Bamako (Mali), june 14 to 18, 2010.

Writing articles: second training
Second training in writing scientific articles, in Côte d'Ivoire
The training workshop took place in Yamoussoukro, in the campus of INP-HB, August 16-20, 2010. It was delivered by M. Bernard Pochet, documentalist and member of the editing committee of the journal BASE (Biotechnologie, Agronomie, Société et environnement), and convinced advocator of the open-access approach.

Workshop "scientific writing and communication" under preparation
Training on scientific writing and communication: confirmed
The workshop will take place in Bamako (Mali), june 14-18, 2010. Training will be delivered in French, although English will be spoken too. The coordinator of the AFOMDnet Project is doing his best so that as many colleagues as possible could benefit, were they involved in research orteaching.
Workshop on methodology
A workshop to finalize the methodlogy,
relatived to the referencing and the capitalizing of experiences in the promotion of food crops and diversification, took place in Ouagadougou (Burkina Faso). The methodology was carried out and appropriated by all project partners. The workshop gave the opportunity to set up a friendly group, deeply sharing the objectives of the AFOMDnet Project.
Methodology in good tracks and internet soon operational
The capitalizing of experiences is based on its referencing and three dimensions of caracterising dealing with a given experience, the actions specifically implemented, and the results obtained. The methodology and the internet tools under construction are conceived so as to enable capitalizing in various areas such as agriculture, human health, education...For this reason the term of "operation" in preferred to the term "project" which implies often external funding.
