Set up an active and receptive network of scientists in social sciences...
...dedicated to addressing a crucial topic to ACP countries: enhancement of foodcrop and diversification productions
This network is called AFOMDnet according to its French title (Réseau d'A nalyse des F acteurs d'O ffres vivrières, de mise en m arché et de d iversification) or Analysis network for factors in foodcrop supply, marketing and diversification.
The operation of the network being set up targets at:
- capitalizing numerous experiences of enhancement of the concerned productions, through an analytical approach and specific Internet tools;
- promoting the acknowledgement of ACP scientists through publication of their analyses and results in international scientific journals;
- increasing the role of research institutions in reflections and conception of policies destined to promote the considered productions;
- providing assistance to other networks of researchers in adopting the analytical approach and tools carried out

1st Steering Committee
A first Steering Committee to benefit from external assessment
The Committee took place in the conference room of the Hotel du Lac from 27to 28 september 2011, with the participation of external members coming from the Agence Française de Développement in Paris; of the Secretariat of the Club of Sahel and of West Africa, OECD; of the West and Central Council for Agricultural research and development (CORAF/WECARD).
Philo of sciences
Initiation to philosophy of sciences to achieve the cycle of training
The training took place from Sept. 19 to 23, 2011, in the meeting room of the Laboratoire d'Analyse Régionale et d'Expertise Sociale (LARES) in Cotonou, Benin. The coach was Ms Catherine Baudouin, philosopher and member of Trans-formation Consultants.
Project Writing 3
A third workshop to conclude the training in project writing
This workshop took place in Bamako (Mali), 8-13 August 2011. The General Director of the Institute of Rural economy of Mali has opened himself the workshop to underline how young scientists are lucky in comparison to scientists of his generation who got no opportunity to gain competence in scientific and project writings.
Multi-stakeholders workshop in Benin
Presentation of the project and of the capitalzing tools it has carried out
Among the project participating countries, Benin has been the first to organize the workshop to inform about the project and the capitalizing tools it has carried out. Participants came from various categories of stakeholders related with the issue of foodcrop productions and diversification.

Workshop dedicated to the contents of the projects
The workshop took place from April 11 to 15, 2011, in Ouagadougou, Burkina Faso. It targeted to assist trainees in better clarifying their ideas of projects and to proceed to in-depth analysis through individual and collective evaluation.
