Rodents pathogens

Rodents can be reservoirs or vectors of several pathogens from various origins : bacterial, parasitic or viral. We give here a non-exhaustive list of the main pathogens potentially transmitted by rodents and the associated diseases.

Bacteria: Bartonella spp., Borrelia sp., Leptospira spp., Burkholderia sp., Yersinia sp., Streptobacillus sp., Coxiella sp., Rickettsia spp., Salmonella sp., Francisella sp.

Parasites: Trichinella sp., Babesia spp., Leishmania sp., Cryptosporidium sp., Schistosoma spp.

Viruses: Junin virus, Machupo virus, Lassa fever virus, Hantaan virus, Seoul virus, Sin Nombre Virus, Hepatitis E virus, Rhabdovirus
